Jennings Haug Cunningham LLP will be presenting at this month’s SAA Luncheon on Tuesday, January 30th.  Jennings Haug Cunningham LLP partners, Julianne Wheeler and Chad Schexnayder, will be presenting on the following topics:

Julianne Wheeler will start the program speaking on “Identifying Construction Contract Risk: AIA Changes, new case law and Key Risk Allocations.”

Chad Schexnayder will then tackle a spectrum of trending surety topics:

  • Successor-Developer Risks on Subdivision Bonds – Developing Law
  • The state of “surety bad faith” in Arizona
  • Indemnity Defenses: Blaming the Agent and the Underwriter
  • The Big Claim and the Solvent Account: What is a surety to do?

Julianne Wheeler Bio:
Julianne Wheeler is a partner at Jennings, Haug & Cunningham and a 30 year attorney whose practice focuses primarily on resolving and litigating commercial disputes with an emphasis on construction matters.   A former Chair of the Construction Law Section of the Arizona Bar Association, prior Legal Counsel for the Arizona Subcontractors’ Association, and a pro tem judge, Julianne is listed in The Best Lawyers in America®, Construction Litigation, and an AV-rated attorney. Julianne is a frequent presenter to construction industry groups such as the CFMA, ASA, and ABA and an instructor for the ABA’s Leadership Development Forum.

Chad Schexnayder Bio:
Chad L. Schexnayder is a partner with Jennings Haug Cunningham LLP who has concentrated his practice in the representation of sureties for over 33 years. He is a frequent speaker before construction and surety industry groups, including the NASBP and SFAA, as well as the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee of the American Bar Association. He is the author of numerous surety publications and co-editor of the Surety Underwriter’s Desk Book.
